As a college, students you have access to many experiences and opportunities while attending a high institution. From internships to research opportunities, college is one of the best places for networking. One experience I wish I would have taken advantage of while away at college was studying abroad.
Studying abroad gives students the opportunity to experience other cultures and to gain a broader sense of the world. From interacting with other students to attending other prestigious colleges and universities and building life long connections, studying abroad is something you would not want to miss out on.
Typically, most colleges and universities have specialized programs to help prepare its students before they know where they want to study abroad and in what field. Often times students believe they will not graduate in time, their financial aid will not cover the costs, and they cannot study abroad because of the field they are studying. These are all myths. With the proper guidance and planning, studying abroad is affordable and attainable.
So, before graduating, take the time into looking at countries and destinations you dreamt about visiting and make those dreams come true while gaining some credits towards that degree. Do not let missing out on this experience be your college regret.
